Football for women. 18 to 81+

Code of Conduct

1. Inclusivity  - The league was created to give women the chance to play in a league competition, many of whom will be doing so for the first time. It is the responsibility of us all to make every player feel both welcomed and valued. Teams are requested to place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything else. No form of discrimination will be tolerated.

2. Respect- Teams are requested to respect their team-mates, the opposition, match officials and league organisers at all times and ensure they play the game in the right spirit. Teams will maintain the highest forms of behaviour throughout the tournament. At the end of every game, teams are requested to shake hands with their opposition and celebrate the effort and good play from both sides.

3. Prepared  - Teams are required to wear appropriate kit including footwear (i.e. moulded boots or astros should be worn; no metal studs please). Shin pads must be worn by all players. Each team must ensure they have the following items with them for each fixture: 1. Bibs to avoid a colour clash with the opposition; 2. A separate / distinctive coloured top for their team's goalkeeper 3. Goal Keeper Gloves.  4. Footballs x 3 (Size 5).

4. Welfare  - All participating teams must ensure they have a minimum of 1 individual who has successfully completed the Introduction to First-Aid in Football qualification https://learn.englandfootball.com/courses/medical/introduction-to-first-aid-in-football and each team is requested to have access to a sufficiently stocked first-aid kit for each match. Shin pads must be worn by all players. Teams are requested to ensure their members are properly warmed up before the start of each match. Teams will have access to the facilities for 1 hour in total each evening so teams are asked to allocate a minimum of 5 continuous minutes to warm-up activities. All teams are requested to have the relevant public liability and personal injury insurances in place.

5. Punctuality  - All teams are requested to arrive in good time and be ready to start their matches at the agreed time. The following is the schedule all teams should abide by.

Arrival Time: Before 8pm

Warm-up: 8-8.05pm

Kick-off (1st half): 8.05pm

Half-Time: 8.30pm

Kick-off (2nd half): 8.35pm

Final whistle: 9.00

6. Integrity  - Although the emphasis is on participation and fun, teams are requested to respect the integrity of the league format, ensuring all their fixtures are completed and teams perform to the best of their ability for all matches. All players must be currently or previously connected with the teams they are representing. Parachuting in players to boost a team's ability will not be tolerated. Teams agree not to behave in an unsporting way towards their opponents nor seek to gain an unfair advantage over them. Any team unable to provide the minimum number of players to participate in a game (7) will forfeit their match and the opposition will be awarded a 4-0 win.

7. Environment - Please respect the facilities we have access to by leaving them in the same condition (or better) than we found them. Please avoid leaving any litter. Teams are also requested to respect the wider environment by limiting use of single use plastics (e.g. using refillable water bottles) and promoting lift sharing to reduce the number of single journeys made.

8. Reporting - All teams are kindly requested to submit their match results by midnight on the same day so that the league table can be updated in a timely manner. Similarly, any team or player with any welfare or safeguarding concerns should contact hello@swansfootball.co.uk as soon as possible.
