Where do sessions take place?
We have a number of venues available located in or close to the areas we cover. Detailed directions can be found on the relevant venue page.

How often do sessions take place?
Sessions take place on a weekly basis in blocks of 5, 6 or 7 weeks that fit with the school calendar. There are usually no sessions planned during school holidays and half-terms etc.

Can I join after a block has started?
Yes, of course. Please contact us for more information.

I'm an absolute beginner. Can I join?
Absolutely. We are very beginner friendly and understand players are unlikely to have had the same opportunities to play that are available to girls today.

Will I play matches?
Not initially. Swans sessions are more about fitness, friendship and fun than winning matches. We may occasionally arrange friendly fixtures between our different locations but the emphasis will be on friendly.

What will I be expected to do in a session?
As much as you like. Give it a go. Have a try. Have another go. A typical session will involve some warm-up activities; specific practices to help technique followed by some informal matches.

What kit should I wear?
Anything you feel comfortable in. Any sports kit will be great. Most of our sessions take place on artificial grass so astros or trainers should be worn. Please check for more details on your chosen venue page.

How much does it cost?
All new players are entitled to a FREE Try-out session with no commitment to join. After this, we charge in half-termly blocks (of 5, 6 or 7 weeks) to tie in with the school calendar. Costs depend on the number of players attending but equate to approx. £10 a session.

Can I pay by week?
As we are required to commit to the venues we use over specific periods of time, we request a similar commitment from our players which is why we charge in blocks. Anyone unable to make their usual session is welcome to drop in to another group on another evening. New joiners are entitled to a FREE try-out and will then be charged on a pro-rata basis should they wish to continue.

Who runs the sessions?
All our coaches are fully qualified including first-aid, safeguarding and ensuring sessions are delivered in a fun, friendly and appropriate way.

What happens when the weather is bad?
Sessions will continue in all weather, rain or shine, unless it is unsafe to do so or the venue has decided to close due to adverse weather. Players should therefore dress appropriately based on the weather forecast.
